I love this post from Patrick Skene. Worth a viewing.
The chessboard just gave us a leadership masterclass — not in tactics, but in truth.
Gukesh Dommaraju’s victory over Magnus Carlsen is an excellent illustration of how real leadership dynamics play out:
Leadership is never guaranteed. Legacy counts, but it doesn’t shield you from challenge. There is always something new to learn. Seek it.
In strategy, never underestimate an opponent. Especially one who’s been studying your every move since childhood. Even a winning strategy needs constant adjustment.
In defeat, manage your emotions. Grace in losing is a test of true leadership. Don't smash the chessboard.
In change, make room for the changing of the guard. Change doesn’t always knock politely. Every era ends. The smart ones know when it’s time to evolve.
